What is a Podiatrist?
A Podiatrist is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the lower limb. The field of Podiatric medicine is diverse and ranges from routine footcare, to complex surgical intervention, biomechanical assessment and orthotic prescriptions to lower limb amputation prevention.
Is a Podiatrist medically trained?
Yes,* and we are experts in foot, ankle and lower limb problems and injuries. They have diagnostic skills and a deeper understanding of the foot anatomy and associated structures. They have been trained to be analytical of the foot problem.
*Tessa has a British Honors degree qualification
What is the Difference between a Podiatry treatment & a Pedicure?
A pedicure is simply a cosmetic (aesthetic) procedure and a Podiatric treatment is medical treatment.
